Psalm 119:41-48

41 May your unfailing love come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise;
42 then I will answer the one who taunts me, for I trust in your word.
43 Do not snatch the word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws.
44 I will always obey your law, for ever and ever.
45 I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.
46 I will speak of your statutes before kings and will not be put to shame,
47 for I delight in your commands because I love them.
48 I lift up my hands to your commands, which I love, and I meditate on your decrees.
A dear friend of mine told me recently that when times are tough; open the Bible to any verse in the New Testament. It will speak to you. Not having a Bible at work, I went to an NIV website. The New Testament verse of the day is listed above.
This verse speaks of trusting God and relying His message. I needed to be reminded of that. I need to rely His message and to trust in Him. Not my will, but Yours be done.
Thank you for reminding me of this essential message.

Thank you! I also need to be reminded from time to time of the love that God has for us and that he is always watching over us.
AE... I was thinking of you, and others, when I wrote that.
The word of God never ceases to amaze me. For one because no matter how many times I've read a verse when I go to it in trouble something new speaks to me.
More specifically reading this verse and thinking about how much David loved God...he speaks with so much passion yet he doesn't even have a clue how beautiful story actually is. He simply recognizes that the law God gave was for the good of humanity (that is still true today...try and disobey and tell me your life is better for it...lie and you'll always be wondering when you'll be found out, etc). But we now know that not only did God in mercy give us the law so that life may go well for us here on earth, but He also sent his only begotten Son to die for us so we can be reconcilled to God once again. Sometimes it confuses me why we do see any writes that are as passionate as Psalms anywhere else in the Bible since it is Old Testament.
