Cruisin' with the top down

I was driving to work this morning (when I say “driving” I mean that in the sense that I was in my car and it was in gear, not so much “driving” as in moving forward with any great ease or consistency). I digress… I was driving to work this morning. The sun was out… the day was already a little warm. Generally a nice day.

There are a guy, mid-forties, wearing a very nice suit, at the wheel of a navy blue Saab convertible. The top was down and all of the windows were up. As ridiculous as the “top down, windows up” thing looks, I get that… wind control.

What I do not understand is that this man chose to drive to work, in attire not made to absorb dampness, after some sort of pre-work preparation process. He was sweating PROFUSELY! Liquid pouring down his face like an NBA superstar.

Why not put the top up… arrive to work with some sort of reasonable presentation of one’s self… and enjoy the top down, sweat and all, on the way home? He has only the ENTIRE DAY of smelling badly ahead of him. I am sure that his co-workers will appreciate his choice.

Perhaps he has no co-workers? Why is he wearing a suit? I cannot rationalize these choices.

I guess I will just work today.

haha! The joys of a commute when all you do is have time to stare at others on the road. At least you gave me a little laugh!
