When I was a child, I really did not like my first name very much. Renee. No one had that name! It was so different. Jodie, Angie, Becky… those were all “normal” names.
As time has gone by, I have learned to like my name. Renee. I feel that it has a certain strength about it. Renee.
I just learned that I was wrong when I was a child. My name actually was fairly popular… at least by comparison. Renee was ranked as the 86th most popular name in the year of my birth. At least, according to the Social Security Administration’s website.
Now my name is further down the list, at 582. I like that. I am comfortable enough in my own skin to be my own person. I like my name.

I looked at the site and surprisingly I was #4 in 1975. Now though...#117...
I would have thought I was much further down in '75. I didn't know a lot of Melissa's...at least till high school.
Owen was #58 last year!
