My Part-Time Job

I know that most people do not want to hear me complain about my commute. I understand that I did this to myself. I also have no intention of moving or getting another job any time soon. I realize that cannot expect anyone else to make my situation better if I am unwilling to contribute. Even so, I offer these “solutions” to no one in particular:

1. Get a helicopter and pilot: Faster, more direct… plus I wouldn’t have to drive!
Drawback: With all of the traffic choppers in the air, congestion would surely follow.

2. Get a Blackberry phone: I would have 4 hours per day to read and respond to emails.
Drawback: The whole stop and go traffic thing would make typing hazardous.

3. Deliver goods in the North in the morning and in the South in the evening: Get a little compensation for my travels.
Drawback: My departure and arrival times are always fluctuating. I would not be very dependable.

4. Build a direct (actual) EXPRESSway from home to work on which no one else could drive: Perhaps a 40-mile commute would take 40 minutes?!
Drawback: Clearly contruction in Chicagoland NEVER ends. I would retire LONG before it was finished.

5. Deal with it: As I stated, I have no intention of making any real changes.
Drawback: I will continue to lament my daily frustrations. (Sorry to anyone in my Contacts list.)

2 and 3 sounds pretty good to me, not that I have this kind of problem to deal with.

I say think of it as theropy for free...now a days we live such fast pace lifes that no one gets a chance to sit and think and reflect or just spent some time talking with friends and family. So an endless comnute everyday is more like a day opportunity to relieve stress.

B-
I would agree with that, except that the drive is SO stop and go and I see an accident SO frequently that my the time that I get home, I am absolutely exhausted.
