* Dropped off my car to get new brakes (necessary evil)
* Went to a wake
* Picked up my car with its new, although deficient brakes (we didn’t know that yet)
Left for the Aurora College football game
* Learned that my “new” brakes had something wrong with them
* Learned new words like “caliper” and “brake pin” and I learned that brake pins should be straight and secured (mine were not)
* Met one of the referees for the Aurora game
* Met James (Big Cat) Williams, formerly #71 from The Chicago Bears and got an autograph
* Went to the Wheaton College football game
*Experienced the custom of getting free ice cream whenever the Wheaton team scores a touchdown (They scored 7 touchdowns, but we only had ice cream 3 times… only.)
* We now know what “free meat” means when watching a Wheaton football game (Free hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and popcorn at the beginning of the 4th quarter.)
* Picked up my car (again) with its brand new brakes, hosing and shiny, straight, secure pins
* Celebrated my husband’s birthday with a trip to his favorite place… Red Lobster for All You Can Eat Shrimp
* Began Christmas shopping and made some progress…and found a thing or two for us!
