Christmas is over, families have returned home and "The Ball" has dropped... the festivities have come to a close.
What's next?
Valentine's Day? Pretty bad when a Hallmark Holiday is the best hope on the horizon.
St. Patrick's Day? See Valentine's Day
Memorial Day? OK... a little better... although not the intention of the day, the unofficial start of Summer is a welcome thought while the current temperature is 17 degrees.
So, that's it?!? The next calendar date to look forward to is more than 5 months from now!
NO! Unacceptable! I will not lean forward just to reach another finish line. I will take joy in the here and now.
I will enjoy the simple pleasure of a snowball fight and not worry about all of the water that will eventually make its way onto the kitchen floor. I will enjoy my nap without guilt of having not done something "more productive." I will slow down my pace.
Easier said than done, I know. But if I don't say it, then it definitely will not get done.
