Yesterday's Update
He went back to the surgeon for a follow-up. He seems to be healing well, but was scolded because he needs to keep his leg elevated above his heart more often. (Hate to say "I told you so, but...")
They took the original dressings off and, for the first time, we actually saw the incisions. Because they ended up doing more work than they thought, there was one more incision. They didn't anticipate the long one down the side of his leg. So, after 22 stitches, 2 screws and 1 permanent wedge, his foot looks like a horror movie prop.
Now he has a hard cast. It's pretty cool looking with the camo covering. I'll have to show you that soon too.

horror movie dead on comment. Wow! I cannot believe how much work was done. Tell him we said hi.
Man, I have to agree with Dem that those are some serious stitches...I also feel extra bad that this is going to be the year that Tom can sit and watch all the Michigan games...poor timing.
Oh how horrible, Tell Tom to do as the doctors says or it will take that much longer to heal. MOM SAYS SO!!!
