Some time ago I wrote about my eye infection. I thought perhaps some of you would be interested with what happened next.
After the initial couple of visits to the eye doctor, the infection cleared up, but the blurriness didn't. In fact, it actually had gotten a lot worse. The eye doctor was concerned and had me meet with an opthamologist and his research assistant for further review.
They did more testing, including injecting dye into my eye to see if there were any popped blood vessels. The vessels were in tact. However, they did learn that my optic nerve was mis-shapen. Instead of being round, it was a little flat.
The doctors thought that it could be (1) something that I've had my whole life and never knew, (2) stress, or (3) a brain tumor putting pressure on the nerve. Further testing was required.
So I went for my first-ever sets of MRI's... two days worth. I have more pictures of my soft tissues that I knew was possible!
The films were read and I recieved the results a few days later - NORMAL! Yeah! I was really happy to hear that. Option 3 was no longer a viable diagnosis. I had another appointment with the eye doctor about a week later.
He said that things were looking better and that he thought it was stress. He wanted me to relax and see me again in 2 weeks.
I returned as he requested, with MUCH better vision! He looked at my nerve and it had returned to a round shape. Option 1 was no longer a viable diagnosis.
And so we went with Option 2 - stress. In hindsight, made TOTAL sense. At the time when things went blurry, we were eliminating 10% of our workforce, or more accurately, I was having those conversations; I was worried and overwelmed with many other things... all within a couple of days of each other.
I guess my body was telling me to relax. And so I did. Now, things are much clearer - literally!

I restate what I told you when you first told me about this...so it is true that you can be so stressed you can't see straight.
Crazy what stress can do. Makes me think about my vision issues lately. Hope you are able to contain your stress levels.
