Frizbee Anyone?

When we are out of the house, our dog Rhino stays in his bed with the door locked while Hawk, the other dog, is free to roam. Hawk has never done anything that he shouldn't do while we are gone, even when he was a puppy.

The dogs have a crate of toys that they can play with at any time. It contains rope toys, kongs, a frizbee and a few other items. They have had the frizbee for... 2 years maybe.

The other night my husband was out running errands when I got home from work. After I got into the house, took off my coat, changed clothes, etc, I noticed that Hawk was laying in his bed holding the frizbee. I didn't think much of it at the time.

Then I heard a pulling sound come from him. I looked closer and noticed that HALF of the frizbee was gone! No way did he eat that! I took what was left away from him and started looking for the rest of it. Nothing. I waited until hubby got home. He looked at me blankly when I asked where the rest of the frizbee was.

Conclusion: Hawk ATE half of a neon orange frizbee!

He seemed fine, but we called the vet anyway. After getting some additional details, the vet didn't seem too concerned. We were told to give Hawk a lot of bread over the next few days and to watch him and his "movements."

We did. He's fine. We did locate much of the semi-digested frizbee.

Crazy!

I wonder why he didn't finish all of it.

Because I took it away from him before he could do so.

I myself am amazed that the frisbee lasted that long. Brutus has to have his taken away after we play with it...otherwise it will be all chewed up...he won't eat it though...lol
