I typically get rather excited about "special projects." The more complex, the better. I love a good challenge! Fortunately, I've been in a position a few times in my life to be a part of some rather complex projects... and they have all turned out rather well (if I do say so myself.)
Today... I hit the wall. My current project is complex, but not in a way that should be terribly overwhelming. I found myself exhibiting all sorts of interesting behaviors:
Wandering
Chatting
Distracted
And then it hit me... I am AVOIDING the major task at hand. I'm avoiding it because I am feeling overwhelmed by it and I don't know how to break it down into smaller parts.
Smaller parts!
I know this always works for me. And so I started... breaking it down.
I definitely made some progress, although I am now mentally exhausted, but I am feeling a lot better!

Yes, major projects must be broken into small chunks...I can't move the mountain but I can move a stone.
