We went to a minor league baseball game last night (Windy City Thunderbolts). A few things happened that were firsts… It’s time for a list: (In no particular order)
1. We had the exact same seats as another group of people. While one might think that someone had fake tickets, it turned out that the box office had made a mistake. This is an especially feasible answer when one considers that the game was free.
2. This was the first game that I attended at which the rain tarp was pulled out. The National Anthem had not even been sung when the tarp came out… seconds later the rain fell… HARD! This was ok since the seats in which we had (the ones that our tickets indicated) were under the overhang… we were perfectly dry. The people who moved closer to homeplate were very wet. They asked for “their” seats back.
3. We caught a shirt. You know how teams have their people who throw out shirts to the crowd. They did that at this game. We got a shirt… or more accurately… I got a shirt. It only fit me!
4. Michigan baseball teams trampled all over Illinois teams twice in one day. The Detroit Tigers beat the Chicago White Sox for the 3rd time in as many days...wait... it was the other way around... no matter. I will continue. The Windy City Thunderbolts were stomped by the Traverse City Beachbums.
