Every once in a while, it's time to take a step back for some perspective. Since my brother is on his way to another continent, now seems like a good time to take a look at him.
Over the past few years, my brother (who is 5 years younger than I) has accomplished a lot of things. Most of which I do not understand, but you are more than welcome to check out by visiting his professional website.
Recently, he was asked to go to Japan and Korea for a work thing. When I called him the night before to wish him a good trip, he mentioned that the limo was picking him up in the morning. That comment got me thinking... I wonder how his contemporaries view him?
When my boss's boss visits, we do all sorts of extra work in an effort to impress. At the end of the day, he is just a guy with a family that thinks of him as a family member... nothing more, nothing less.
I am guessing that if someone is flying my brother to a couple of other countries, and beginning the trip with a limo, they probably have a decent opinion of him. But I see him as my brother, nothing more, nothing less.
This makes me laugh and gives me a little perspective on my own interactions. I have an odd job where people actually lead me to believe that they listen to me and care what my opinions are. They act a little less relaxed when I am around and make sure that I notice that they are working hard. At the end of the day, I am just a person with a family, nothing more, nothing less.

Thanks sis...yeah I have no idea how anyone around me views me besides those that view me as just their brother, son, fiance, relative, or friend. Also, now that you got me thinking about it I realize that that is a super weird thing to think about. I can think about you and how your colleagues view, but when its myself it gets weird.
