Perspective

I often bore people with my complaints about the people I work with, my commute or other insignificant details. God has a way of shaking my tree to put things into perspective. Here are His recent messages:

Lesson given on February 14, 2008 - "Take advantage of every opportunity that I give to you. You don't know how many more moments you have."
This is when a gunman opened fire on the Northern Illinois University's campus. He killed 5 students, ranging from age 19-31, before killing himself.

Lesson given on February 24, 2008 - "Take advantage of every opportunity that I give you. You don't know how many more moments you have."
This is when I learned that someone I know lost her mother, Jenny. Jenny was diagnosed with the disease which took her life only 3 months ago. Jenny was 56 years old.

Lesson given on February 26, 2008 - "Take advantage of every opportunity that I give you. You don't know how many more moments you have."
This is when I learned that someone I know and love could be getting a kidney transplant... from someone they know and love.

I heard His message the first time, but he has sent it 2 more times since then. I can only imagine how serious He is.

Thank you for the message. Thank you for the opportunity to put my minor trials in perspective.

It reminds me of Jesus asking Peter if he loved him three times after Peter had denied knowing Jesus three times. I don't mean that this has come to you because you passed on an opportunity, but that God seems to stress things that are very important in 3s. (makes you also think about how famous people die in 3s).
